Towing Mirror Recommendation for a 2001 GMC Sierra With Full Chrome Mirrors
Question:
I have a 2001 GMC Sierra and need the extension mirrors for towing a 21foot travel trailer. My problem is that I have the full chrome type mirrors. Do you offer a product that will work for me?

We do have universal fit towing mirror options that will work with the full chrome mirrors on your 2001 GMC Sierra, however, the custom slip-on towing mirrors that we carry are only designed to fit the base model OEM mirrors that have either the black or chrome cap (see photo). According to my contact at CIPA, who is one of my custom towing mirror manufacturers, the full chrome mirrors that were made for the 1999 to 2002 GMC Sierra were larger that the base mirror which is why the slip-on mirrors will not fit.
Since you have a full chrome mirror, I would recommend looking into a universal fit mirror like the CIPA Clip-On Mirror, # 7070, or the CIPA Door Mount Mirror, # 11650. My coworker tested many of our universal custom towing mirrors on his truck and found that the door mount mirror performed the best when towing and had the least amount of vibration creating the best visibility.
Another option to universal fit mirrors would be a full replacement mirror. This option is more expensive, but give you towing mirrors with and OEM look.
I have attached a links to all of the universal fit towing mirrors and full replacement mirrors that we sell for you to check out.
