Curt Echo Not Getting Power From Factory 7 Way On A 2015 Mercedes GLK250
Question:
Hello - I PURCHASED the Curt Echo because I have a factory installed 7-way hitch /electrical plug on my 2015 mercedes GLK250... Apparently there is no power to terminal #1 1 oclock position on the 7-way plug - Is this possible??? Mercedes was no help and sent me to a paid repair website??? Crazy... My 2014 ML works just fine with this device. Do I have to run a separate 12v wire to the plug form the battery with a circuit breaker? Or is there something in a menu that i have to turn on? Help please...

Yes, it is possible that even though there is a factory 7 way it may not have the power wire connected on your 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK250. This is common on some vehicles. You are correct that a 12 gauge power wire and circuit breaker is going to have to be ran from the battery to the 7 pole plug in order for the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional Item # C51180 to work correctly. I recommend the Circuit Breaker - 30 Amp - Perpendicular Mount Bracket - Cycling Auto Reset - Metal - Type I Item # PK54230. You also need 2 of Ring Terminal - 12-10 Gauge Wire - 3/16" Ring ID Item # 44-5310A and Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Yellow - Qty 5 Item # DW05745-5
