Which Class IV Hitch Do I Need for a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic
Question:
Hello - Im having a problem locating a receiver hitch for my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. Im getting conflicting answers from uhaul and the Ram Dealer. I need a class 4 hitch and I have a 2019 RAM 1500 Classic SLT crew cab. 4x2. I guess there are frame differences in a 2019 Ram and 1500 Classic . Any chance you can tell me which one I need? Thanks so Much

You are correct that there are differences between the frames on the 2019 Ram 1500 and the Ram 1500 Classic. The correct Draw-Tite Class IV hitch for the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic is the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Cast Center - Custom Fit - Class V - 2" # 41948. This is a custom fit hitch, so no drilling will be required during installation.
If you also need to install trailer wiring on your 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, I recommend using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connectors # C55774, which will plug into the available factory wiring and provide you with both 4 and 7 way connectors for trailers.
The final components you may need for towing would be a ball mount and hitch ball. If you don't already have these, I recommend using the etrailer Ball Mount Kit - 3" Rise or 4" Drop - 16,000 lbs
Item # EBMK2416 since it comes with a ball mount and both 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls. This kit will allow you to tow multiple trailers with different setups, so it's a versatile option if you have multiple trailers or aren't sure what you might be towing.
I've linked some installation and review videos of these parts that you can use as a guide.
