Skid Wheel Preventing Trailer Hitch Bottoming Out on Steep Driveway
Question:
I have a 2020 Kia Sedona EX minivan with a Curt trailer hitch receiver C13115 I bought from etrailer. My driveway goes up a steep hill, and while turning into it, the hitch receiver drags on the ground. This happens without anything in the receiver — its not that the vehicles weighed down, its just somewhat low and the hill is steep. How can I prevent the hitch from dragging? Can I use a skid wheel or roller? Can that go on the receiver along with a bike rack? Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear the ground clearance isn't what you need for your 2020 Kia Sedona EX due to the steep driveway. The Roadmaster Rollaway Trailer Hitch Protector # RM-050 is my recommendation for you which will work with or without an accessory installed in the hitch receiver. If you plan on using a bike rack, this may still not give you clearance for the rack or the bike wheels depending on the rack used, so that should be considered as well. This will protect the hitch itself from damage, but may not protect your accessory.
