What Hitch do you Recommend for my 2016 Lexus NX 200t when Using a Motorcycle Carrier
Question:
Hello, I don’t understand which hitch to buy and most importantly I still can’t figure all the tongue weight stuffs. All I know is my motorcycle carrier weights 80 lb and my motorcycle weight around 440 pounds and I drive a 2017 Lexus Nx200t. Pls advice

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13337 is the only option that will fit your needs. When using a carrier like yours you use the Tongue Weight or TW to determine the capacity available. This hitch is rated for up to 525 lbs. of TW your carrier and bike weigh in at 520 lbs. based on the info you provided. That falls right in line with the hitch. I have linked an installation video on the hitch for you to check out.
I do need to advise you to check your owner's manual and see what your Lexus NX 200t is rated for though. You do not want to exceed the 525 lb. TW of the hitch or your vehicles tongue weight rating. We always use which ever one is lower.
Just to clarify the Gross Trailer Weight or GTW capacity is the weight limit of the hitch when pulling a trailer. This hitch offers a 3,500 lb. capacity. That would mean the total weight of your trailer and anything loaded on it could not exceed 3,500 lbs. or the GTW weight limit of your 2016 Lexus NX 200t which again can be found in your owner's manual.
If your carrier has lights on it the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118652 is a confirmed fit for your Lexus NX 200t and gives you a 4-way flat trailer connector to plug the carrier into.
