Where Should the Titan Electric Over Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator be Placed on a Trailer
Question:
I am not sure the best position the place the hydraulic actuator. Would placing it closest to the brakes better than 40foot away at the gooseneck coupler? Is the shorter the plumbing a better thing? I realize the farther away from electric source the larger the wire to use but Im looking for the best responce to the brakes. I have a 40foot gooseneck flat bed. The distance from coupler to center of axles measured along neck is about 40. Converting trailer from electric to electric/hydraulic disc.

The placement of the actuator, # T4813102, is up to you. What is going to be best for disc brakes when they are 40 feet away and the actuator is mounted at the front of the trailer is larger brake lines. Larger diameter brake lines will provide better response time. The instructions, which I will send to you in a separate email, cover the installation method and locations. But you can also install it closer to the axles if you want.
I have included a link to an FAQ article that should also help.
