Troubleshooting Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller Showing No Display
Question:
My unit is no longer showing anything on the display, as if power has been lost. The wires are plugged in fully so I don’t know what to check next. Thank you

The Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional # TK90160 should have power triggered when there is a draw on the 5 o'clock pin of the 7-way trailer connector showing there is a trailer connected. It should be in a "sleep" mode until there is a draw on that output wire.
If with a trailer connected you don't have anything on the display, then if you are connected to factory wiring harness there may be a fuse associated with your trailer brake controller power. If it is directly hardwired then the circuit breaker may have gone bad. Normally you would use a 30 amp auto-cycling breaker like # PK54530 on the power wire from the battery to your brake controller.
