In order to choose the correct Blue Ox Weight Distribution Hitch, you will first need to know your total tongue weight (TTW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your truck.

The tongue weight is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's GVWR but I recommend verifying it by using the etrailer Tongue Weight # e99044.

Having said that, unless you have a lot of cargo behind the rear axle of your truck, your tongue weight should be closer to 10 percent so the best option is likely going to be the 1,000 lb tongue weight Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control # BXW1000.

Or, if you know you are going to have a lot of cargo behind your axle, go with the 1,500 lb tongue weight Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control # BXW1500.

With either system you will need a hitch ball depending on the size of your trailer's coupler, the 2" Hitch Ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" # 19286.
