Will a 75 lb 2-Bike Carrier Work for a 50 lb E-Bike?
Question:
The listed capacity of this rack says 75 lbs. Does that mean I can put one bike weighing 50 lbs on it and if so does it pertain to all of the bike racks listed?

There are several great options for bike racks to transport your e-bike, but the Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack # TH9058 has a total weight capacity of 75 lbs. Although this appears to be enough to carry your 50 lb e-bike, bike racks are actually rated per bike, so the Thule amber can only support two bikes up to 37.5 lbs each. This is usually because that is the limit for the individual parts of the bike rack, such as the cradle, not the limit for the bike rack as a whole.
To transport your heavier e-bike, I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10004. This platform rack can hold two bikes up to 60 lbs each and fits 2" hitches. If you have a 1-1/4" hitch receiver, use # RKY10003 instead. This bike rack also comes with a cable lock to lock your bikes to your bike rack, and an anti-rattle bolt and lock to lock your rack to your hitch. Check out the video linked below for more details.
