Small Trailer Recommendation for Transporting Hobie Pro Angler 14

Question:

Do you recommend this trailer for hauling a Hobie PA 14? I’ve opted for the convenience of a trailer over the use of a Yakima LongArm that I purchased from e-trailer nearly 3 year ago. I would be hauling the kayak on average of 50 to 400 miles round trips on highways and freeways in the east Texas areas around Houston. The Hobie Pro Angler is 13’-8” Long, 38” wide and weighs 144 lbs with the seat, and near 200 lbs with gear. I would add 2 3” PVC rails in combination with the trailer’s support rails2 which should prevent outer hull warping Hobie warns against using PVC rests without side supports.

Yes the Malone EcoLight Sport Single Kayak Trailer # MAL73FR would work great for transporting your Hobie Pro Angler 14. It has over twice the weight capacity you'd need, has carpeted bunks you could angle to match the hull shape of your boat, and also has a higher speed rating than most similar trailers at 70 mph.
