Does the back of the fifth wheel tongue where it is attached to the camper need to be above the bed rails?

The tongue of the trailer needs to be above the bed rails so that the trailer can turn correctly when making turns and going over bumps to clear the truck. I will attach a photo to help explain the clearances needed for your trailer.

The Gen-Y fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter part #GY36FR will not void the warranty of the trailer that you install it on. The types of adapters that do void the warranty are the ones that attach to the king pin like the #CAB-C5G.

This is a good question but as long as your trailer is under 20,000 lbs the 4 inch offset hitch ball #BWGNXA4085 would not put any undue stress on the hitch or the truck.
