Does the Reese 30047 Fifth Wheel Offer 360 Degree Pin Engagement

Question:

Am I understanding it correctly that the reese 30047 does not fully engage the king pin at all 360 degree points of the king pin. When Im hitched with the jaws locked for towing I can see part of the king pin that is not engaged by the Jaws. A rough guess would be 5-10 degrees. Is this expected, seems wonky? Sorry to bother you I cant seem to get through to reese.

While it is a dual jaw system the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047 does not make 100% contact 360 degrees around the king pin. This is normal on this particular head.

To ensure that it is properly connected to the camper you need to make sure the latch is closed and secured on the handle. With that in place the fifth wheel is properly connected.
