Does Curt Hitch for 2017 Ford F-150 With Factory Hitch Remove Need for Weight Distribution
Question:
How does adding this second hitch remove the need for a WD when going over 5000 lbs per the stock hitch requirements? I ask because I have a stock trailer id rather not drill into to use WD.

Adding the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C26HR to your 2017 Ford F-150 will not remove the need for a weight distribution hitch. It is always highly recommended to use a weight distribution system when your trailer weight is more than 50 percent of your vehicle's weight.
So for a 2017 Ford F-150, which weighs anywhere between 4,000 lbs and 5,700 lbs, a weight distribution hitch is recommended, either with the factory hitch or when using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C26HR.
For a weight distribution hitch, the correct one depends on your total tongue weight (TTW); the ideal system is one in which your TTW falls in the middle of the system's capacity. For example, if you have a 750 lb TTW a perfect option would be the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System with Sway Control # RP66559.
