2017 Ford F250 Super Duty Short Bed Fifth Wheel Hitch to Use with Sidewinder and OEM Rail Kit
Question:
Hello, I am looking into purchasing a new Fifth Wheel and my 2017 F250 did not come equipped with the Fifth wheel and Gooseneck Prep. I know the set up I want to get. I want the Reese Airborne Sidewinder with the BandW Companion BWRVK3305 + the wedge SWW-06. I was hoping you can help me to determine if there is an option vs getting the Ford Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Prep installed from Ford. I know Reese makes the Ford OEM, but I cannot find that Reese makes the same thing after market. So, first question, Does Reese or anyone make the a Fifth wheel and Gooseneck prep Under bed and one unit like Ford that is comparable to the Ford OEM? I find under bed rail systems for Fifth wheel Reese, but not one that fits 2017 F250 and under bed system for Gooseneck BandW Turnover ball, but not one that covers both fifth wheel and gooseneck. Additionally, I find that some under bed fifth wheel rail systems are/would not be compatible with the BandW Companion Curt?. Just trying to see if their are options for the set up I want or is it best to go with the Ford OEM Fifth wheel and gooseneck prep? Thank you for your help!

For what you are wanting to do the best option is the OEM rail kit for the 2017 Ford F-250 since Reese doesn't have an aftermarket Elite rail kit for your truck and there isn't a similar option that would work and provide everything you are wanting. Then you can use the Sidewinder you are wanting with the Companion hitch # BWRVK3305 with the Wedge part # SWW-06.
Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.
There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.
Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
