Is There a 7-Way Solution for Subaru Ascent Using Hitch that Fits Behind Rear Bumper Cover
Question:
I’m sold on your hitch for my 2019 Subaru Ascent, except I have reservations about the installation of the Tekonsha 7 way receptacle. #118290 The beauty of this hitch design is its ability to hide behind the removable bumper cover. But the installation of the Tekonsha receptacle requires two additional mounts, “PK12711U and C57202” mounts. If I were towing a small U-Haul trailer I can go with out this 7 way receptacle but the Ascent was designed with campers in mind and larger trailer requiring this option. Can your design team come up with a adaptor that will utilize the existing bumper design of a hidden hitch and only expose the Receptacle lid instead. Keeping in mind ground clearance. Meaning don’t just hang it below the bumper. Here are some photos I lifted from your site. The last one isn’t even as Ascent but another vehicle. Maybe you could fwd another photo of a Ascent instead. Thanks for reading.

Since you aren't sure if you'd even use a 7-way harness when towing with your 2019 Subaru Ascent you could just install a 4-way like part # C56040 and then use a 7-way adapter like part # 37185 when needed which basically just plugs into an active 4-way and is ready to be used.
