What Connectors To Use When Connecting A 3 Gauge Wire To A 8 To 10 Gauge Wire On A BCDC Charger

Question:

As recommended I purchased the Bulldog rear winch wiring harness BDW20026 to run wiring from truck battery to camper batteries connected to the RedArc BCDC1240D charger- the wires on the Bulldog is 3ga, the wires on the RedArc is 8 or 10ga which fit nicely in the connectors for the 60 amp fuses I purchased, my question is what connector to I use to transition from 3ga to 10ga? The wires on the RedArc are to small to be crimped into the connectors for the plug-in plugs provided on the Bulldog.

To connect your 8 or 10 gauge wire from the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 40 Amp Item # 331-BCDC1240D to the 3 gauge wire I recommend using Deka Wire Crimp Connector - 4 Gauge - Qty 1 Item # DW05354. For adding your 8 or 10 gauge wire you want to strip it enough to fold it over before adding it to the crimp connector then add the plug-in connectors on the ends of the 3 gauge wire. I also recommend adding Primary Wire Heat Shrinkable Tubing - 8 to 2 Gauge - Black - 6" Long - Qty 6 Item # DW05402 over the crimp connectors to protect from metal on metal contact and causing a short.
