Replacing 12x2 Electric Trailer Brake Assemblies With Self-Adjusting Assemblies

Question:

I have what I believe to be a Dexter 5200lbs axle on a 2004 Trailmanor 3124KB. It has a 6 lug drum and currently has the 023-105-106-00 brake system. Would you please help tell me all of the parts I need for replacement. My drums are fine. I would like self adjusting brakes. Is AKEBRK-7-SA the correct right/left setup? I also need hub bearings, grease seals, and dust caps with the rubber cap at the end. Thanks in advance.

To upgrade your Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 12" - Right Hand - 6,000 lbs # 23-106 to self-adjusting, you can use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA you referenced or if you want to stick with the Dexter brand # 23-458-459. You will use the same wire connections and the same mounting hardware as your older assemblies. Once the initial adjustment to the assemblies is made at installation, the brakes will automatically adjust to ensure consistent braking pressure and even pad wear.

If you want to replace the wiring, you can use # 10-1-1 sold by the foot.
