Replacement for Carrier Air V RV Air Conditioner

Question:

I have a 2008 Carrier Transport AC unit that keeps freezing up after about 2 hrs of use. I think its at the end of its life. Its a Carrier model 68RV0010AA installed on my 29ft 2008 Majestic class C RV. Can you recommend a replacement? I dont know its output. Should I go with 13500 or 15000 BTU? Thanks.

Expert Reply:

Your Carrier Air V had an output of 13,500 BTU. If it did a good job cooling your RV, there's no reason why you couldn't stay with that level of cooling output, but there's no reason why you couldn't go with a 15,000 BTU unit.

The Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner, part # ACCAR135 for the 13,500 or # ACCAR150 for the 15,000 BTU unit would be a direct plug-and-play replacement for your existing AC unit that would allow you to utilize the existing ceiling vent and thermostat you're currently using that would replace the existing unit on the roof.

The Advent # ACDOM135 you'd looked at is a replacement for Dometic AC units, and wouldn't be the correct replacement for your Carrier Air V.
