Recommended Brake Controller and Weight Distribution for 2015 Toyota Tundra and 2020 Lance 2075
Question:
Hi, I have the following: 2015 Toyota Tundra w/ gas 5.7l v8 w/ 10,000 lbs tow package did not come with integrated brakes controller - that was 2016 it appears w/ double cab w/ SR5 w/ TRD 4x4 w/ standard bed 6.5ft w/ ARE truck cap Looking to buy the Lance 2075 travel trailer - 4,450 lbs gross dry weight - 440 lbs hitch dry weight - 4,010 lbs axle weight - 1,750 lbs cargo capacity - 6,200 lbs GVWR - 249inch overall length What do I need to pull the Lance off the lot with my Tundra? And, more importantly to start traveling with this combination of truck / travel trailer??? :D Specifically, Im looking for recommendations on weight distribution hitch w/ sway control and brake controller. Also, anything else that would be required or even STRONGLY recommended to allow us to pick up the trailer and start traveling. Alsmost forgot, towing mirrors? And in case it impacts a recommendation, were in California and will be traveling from here to Illinois, and then Illinois to Florida and back to California once or twice a year. And traveling throughout California and the bordering states each month. Generally when Im looking at making a purchase Ill review best bang for buck against what is considered best .... or in the case of cheap - good - better - best .... Im probably only interested in better and best. And sadly, in the case of this topic, I have no point of reference and wanted to reach out to folks that do this for a living and get some much needed recommendations! Thanks!

For your 2015 Toyota Tundra I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional # RED44FR along with the wiring adapter # RED99FR. This will allow you to mount the controller to your dash or console wherever you want and gives you a very clean look with great function.
For your weight distribution system, I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # RP66083 which is a great fit for your total tongue weight. It is my favorite system because of the way it actively fights trailer sway and adjusts to your desired ride. You will need # A-90 for a 2 inch hitch ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball depending on which one matches your trailer coupler.
I've linked an article to help with good, better best options and what to look for.
