Tallest 5th Wheel Hitch for 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed With Factory Puck System

I had/still have a 2005 Duramax with a reese fifth wheel hitch. My problem is the bed walls of the old truck is approximately 52 1/2 inches and the new truck is 58 inches. Get a new trailer?

A new trailer is an option of course if you're already in the market, but there may be some other things you can do, such as lowering the pin box.

Apart from that the best option is a 5th wheel hitch that has as much height as possible for your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the the factory prep package. I'm not sure how high your current Reese 5th wheel hitch can get, but the tallest 5th wheel hitch for your short bed is the Curt A-Series, which can get up to 21-1/2 inches tall. Since you have the puck system these hitches also need an adapter, which raises the hitch an additional two inches, for a height of 23-1/2 inches.

- 16,000 lb Capacity: Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R16 Slider # C16521
