Is The Sterling All Terrain Tow Bar Compatible With The EZ5 Baseplate On A 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler

Question:

I have a EZ5 base plate 521448-5 also a Sterling All Terrain Tow Bar 576. I was told by a employer of Etrailer that this will work on my 2018 jeep jk I found out that it will but it will have left over parts cross bar,and all the brackets. Is this the best option ? OR what do I do with them. I order it and talk to courtny to make sure all parts worked together. Thank you Bob P.S. could I get the part number for the new tow cables that will fit the tow bar.

For your 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms
Item # RM-521448-5 and the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 8K Item # RM-576 do work together however, the crossbar, cross bar brackets and safety cables will not be used. The tow bar connects directly to the removable arms on the base plate. You also need the Roadmaster 64" Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables - 8,000 lbs Item # RM-645 to replace the cables that come with the tow bar.

Since the tow bar has channels, remove the quick link and run the loop end of the cable through the channel toward the RV. You want to make sure you cross the cables on the RV side when attaching them on the hitch. Driver side of RV to passenger side of the base plate on your Jeep.

If you are wanting to use the crossbar, the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM-521448-4 is the better option for the Sterling tow bar.

I am also an installer here and have done a lot of flat tow setups on Jeeps. I always recommend the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - RV Mount - 8K Item # RM-676. It works perfectly with the EZ5 base plate and is by far my favorite tow bar. I recommend it anytime I do a best flat tow setup. It comes with the umbilical cable already installed and with the safety cables. The tow bar has an integrated LED light strip in each arm so you and anyone else can see there is a tow bar there at night. It is non binding and be folded up and stored on the back of the RV when you arrive at your destination and disconnect your Jeep. I have include a link to a video so you can take a closer look at it.
