Would Charging Battery Bank Through Trailer Wiring Accessory Circuit Damage Vehicle Wiring

Question:

Hello, I have two 80 watt coolers in my travel trailer that I want to power while towing the trailer. The 12v charge line on my 7 way is not powerful enough to support even just one cooler. So, Im adding a dual battery pack to the trailer. My question is, will this additional power create a problem for the tow vehicle 12v trailer connection? In others words, will my additional battery pack overload the tow vehicles trailer power? If so, what is your recommendation? An Isolator? A simple toggle switch to disconnect the tow vehicle 12v? Cooler spec is 80 watt 6.5A for one which is the max draw, but since they will already be cool I expect the power draw to be less. However, it is always best to account for the higher draw demand in case you need it. Thanks

Now the power draw from the 12 volt accessory circuit of your 7-way would not overdraw or damage the vehicle battery as you plan to use it. It will simply put a light charge on the battery bank when connected to maintain them and won't hurt your vehicle at all.

You'd want to run 10 gauge wire from the battery to the 7-way connector like with part # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot.
