Part Needed to Protect Tow Vehicle Battery From Draining Overnight With Trailer Connected
Question:
I have been told that I should use a relay so that I do not draw power from the Durango battery while parked over night. So I can leave the unit connected.

You can use a solenoid like the Battery Isolation Solenoid # PK5231201 which will keep your trailer from draining your vehicle battery while connected. This will isolate your trailer battery from the tow vehicle battery so power only flows from the tow vehicle battery when you are using the vehicle.
This is a great option to make sure you aren't stranded with a dead vehicle battery.
