What is the Difference Between the Blue Ox BXW0550 and BXW0553
Question:
BXW0553 and the BXW0550 I see no difference . Help me out here. Also what measurements do i need to know to see if this will setup on my trailer. Have a space behind the propane tanks and in front of the battery. Also i think i have a solid 4 inch frame.

They do look similar but the # BXW0550 is designed for standard trailer couplers and the # BXW0553 is designed for underslung couplers. In order to make sure this will work for your trailer you'll want to make sure your tongue weight falls between 350-lbs and 550-lbs, has trailer frame height between 3" and 6" and up to 2-5/8" wide. It sounds like your frame is 4" x 4", so you wouldn't want to use the included clamp on chain hangers. Instead of the clamp on hangers you could either use the Chain Hangers for Reese Weight Distribution Systems - Bolt On # RP58305 or the Blue Ox Signature Series Lift Brackets # BXW4021. These would be the available solutions to make this WD hitch work on your trailer.
Since the # BXW0550 does not come with a hitch ball, you'll need one with either a 1" or 1-1/4" shank; the # 63847 is a 2-5/16" hitch ball with a 1-1/4" shank that would work well for this hitch if your trailer has a 2-5/16" coupler. If your coupler is a 2", the # A-90 will work for you.
