Adding a 6-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller to a 2007 Ford Explorer with Factory 4-Way
Question:
I would like to install it on a 07 explorer with the under dash connection but only a 4 flat in the back . I need to add a 6 pin in the back but am unsure how to wire it to the controller if the controller plugs to the harness under the dash.

In order to install a brake controller and a 6-Way connector on a 2007 Ford Explorer that has a factory 4-Way you will need 2 items. First you will need the brake controller itself. I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885, because it is one of our best selling controllers because it is easy to use and set up.
Then you will need installation kit # ETBC6. This kit is needed because all of the wiring is not ran to the back of an Explorer that has the 4-Way. I have included some links that will help explain how to install this kit.
