7-Way, 4-Way, and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2020 Toyota Highlander

Question:

We have a 2020 Highlander Hybrid no power lift gate and we need to be able to pull both an RV with a 7-pin connector and a small trailer with a 4-pin connector. Our RV has electric brakes and we will be ordering a dash mounted brake controller too. I understand the Curt C99FR is our best option for the hitch, but Im lost on what I need for the electrical connections. I would appreciate some guidance and knowing what my options are.

We have just what you need to have both a 4-way and 7-way installed at the rear of your 2020 Toyota Highlander. You'll need to start with a 4-way which is what the part # C59496 you referenced would do for your Highlander. And then you would want to convert it to a 7-way with the part # ETBC7 which also has a 4-way connector on the side of it so that you get both connector styles and also comes with everything you'd need to install a brake controller.

The Brake EVN # TK63VR is a really great choice for a controller too. It's proportional which means it knows how hard you are applying the vehicle brakes and applies a relative amount to the trailer brakes, is very reliable, and also is at a great price too.
