Sway Control For Lightweight Trailer On A 2016 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

Hi, I will be towing a 2500lb dry trailer that has an advertised tongue weight of 180lbs. The tow vehicle is a 2016 Toyota 4Runner. Is a weight distribution hitch needed for such a light tongue? If not, is it possible to get sway control without weight distribution? Note, the 4Runner has upgraded suspension consisting of Icon shocks and heavier springs resulting in approx 3inch lift. Weight distribution is needed when the weight of the trailer causes the back of the vehicle to sag. With only having 180 lb tongue weight I don't think you would need to add weight distribution for your 2016 Toyota 4Runner. We do offer just a sway control setup.
