Is Drawbar Needed When Installing Trailer Hitch on a 2018 Subaru Impreza for a Bike Rack
Question:
I will be ordering from you the Draw Tite Sport Frame hitch for my 2018 Subaru 5 door single exhaust vehicle. Do I also need to order the Draw Tite draw bar if I am only using the Draw Tite sport frame for transporting bicycles on a bicycle rack that is compatible with Draw Tite? I think the only accessory I need is the Pin and Clip PC2. Thx much

You won't need a drawbar to carry a bike rack with the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT24959 installed on your 2018 Subaru Impreza and really unless you have an older or very entry-level bike rack you shouldn't even need the Pin & Clip # PC2 either as the bike rack should come with something to secure it to the trailer hitch.
If you don't already have a bike rack then I actually recommend going with the Class III Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76209 instead because it has a larger 2" receiver and it will be compatible with a wider variety of accessories. For example, the Sportframe is a Class I trailer hitch and Class I hitches can only carry up to 2 bikes.
I'm attaching a link to our selection of bike racks that you can filter through. My favorite bike rack that we carry is the Kuat NV 2.0 Base # BA22B simply because it is extremely easy to use and can accommodate a wide variety of bikes out on the market. I am attaching a review video for this bike rack that you can check out.
