What Are My Hitch And Bike Rack Options For My 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Sportswagen TDI?
Question:
I am thinking about installing this hitch on a 2013 Jetta Sportwagen TDI. I would like to purchase a 4-bike rack and was trying to find if platform hitch will work for this application. The ecohitch does not list a specific class but I see that it has 2inch receiver.

For your 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI the EcoHitch Hidden 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver Item # 306-X7284 you were referencing is a confirmed fit. Even though the EcoHitch doesn't specify what class it is and its tongue weight is 300 lbs, the specs closely mirror a class I hitch.
So, I've found you the bike rack you need, but there are no platform style racks that will work with either of your hitch options and of those hitch options, you cannot haul more than 2 bikes since they are a class I hitch. The Thule Hitching Post Pro Item # TH934XTR will work with EcoHitch. The Hitching Post Pro will haul 4 bikes if on a class II hitch, but you'll need a roof bike rack to haul 4 bikes.
To haul all 4 bikes grab the Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbars # TH712200 and Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401. Then all you need is two of the Inno Tire Hold II Roof Bike Item # INA389. This is a roof version of one of my favorite hitch bike racks.
I've included some videos for you to check out!
