What To Use If The Manual Override Crank Handle For A Stromberg Carlson Electric Jack Is Too Long
Question:
Wanted to know for the manual over-ride tool - what are its dimensions? Trying to see if it will work for our application. If the Tool dimensions dont work - what kind of bit can be put on a drill to move it up or down if the electrical has an issue?

The center portion of the Replacement Manual Crank Handle for Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jacks
Item # SC94VR is roughly 8-1/2". As far as putting a bit on a drill, you would have to take the handle to an auto part store to see if they have one that will match it. Keep in mind you could potentially lose the bit inside the housing if it is not secured to an extension. What I would do if it was mine is cut the rod just below the first bend, grind two sides flat, about a 1/2" long and use it in the drill. Grinding two sides flat allows the chuck to grab onto it. I will recommend, if you use a drill, go slow and don't over extend the jack. You could potentially damage the gears if you go too fast.
