Can Curt Q20 5th Wheel Hitch Get More Clearance for Truck Bed Rails

I have a Curt Q20 hitch with the factory puck system. The bed on my 2018 Ford F-350 is higher than my 2012 F-350. I only have 4 inch clearance from bed rails to trailer. Have already hit the bed rails coming from a gas station I need an additional 2 inch clearance. Pin box is at the lowest setting, and hitch is at the highest . The hitch sits 17 inch from bed to top of hitch. Is there a kit to bolt to the existing head unit, to gain the required clearance or is there a kit to lower the existing pin box? There are no kits that will give you more height for your Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16130 or bolt to your pin box.

Unfortunately truck bed rails just keep getting taller, and the only solution for you is a 5th wheel hitch that has more height than the maximum 17 inches tall your Q20 can get. The best option normally is to replace a pin box with the rotating Sidewinder but a Q20 hitch is not compatible with that.

For a 5th wheel hitch that will give you an extra 2 inches of height compared to the Q20 you need the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3255.

This has a hitch height of 19 inches compared to the 17 inches of your Q20. While I realize this is a pricier solution than what you were looking for, it is the only option apart from replacing both your hitch and pin box.
