Adding a Portable Solar Panel Kit To Plug On Side Of Lance Travel Trailer
Question:
Have a Lance with a solar power and controller already installed. There is a port on the side where an another panel can me plugged in. I want a portable panel and a 30foot cord to use for times that I am parked in the shade. 1 Does my second panel need a controller or will it feed through the controller already installed on the Lance? 2 What type of unit would you recommend? I think the rooftop unit the factory installed is a Go Power.

The additional port on the side of the trailer is not run through the solar controller but directly to the battery/batteries. This port is actually designed for a portable kit which already has a built-in solar controller so you are perfect to go ahead and add the Go Power Portable Solar System with Digital Solar Controller part # 34282729 for 90 watt (Good), part # 34282730 for 130 watt (Better), or part # 34282610 for 200 watt (Best).
In order to place the solar panel further away you can purchase an extension cable separately, the Extension Cable for Go Power Portable Solar Kit part # 34270356.
