How to Carry 5 Bikes with a 2009 Nissan Maxima
Question:
Which trailer hitch and accessories would you recommend to install on a 2009 Nissan Maxima in order to put a Curt, Premium, hitch mounted, model #18065, 5 bike rack with a 2inch shank?

In order to carry 5 bikes with your 2009 Nissan Maxima you're either going to need to use a trailer or a combination of a hitch mount bike rack and a roof rack bike rack system because the only hitches that fit your vehicle are Class I hitches which are limited to only carrying 2 bikes. This means you won't be able to use the Curt Premium 5 Bike Rack # C18065.
Since it will be a bit more cost-effective and easier to maneuver your vehicle around by mounting 3 of the bikes to your roof that's the route I recommend taking. Here are the parts I recommend for you:
Curt Trailer Hitch - # C11352
Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack - # TH9058
SeaSucker Bomber Roof 3 Bike Rack - # 298-BB3008
The Bomber is a little bit of a different roof rack system but it will be the most cost-effective, plus you can easily transfer this to a future vehicle. The vacuum cups each have a pull strength rating of 210 lbs so they are more than capable of safely carrying 3 bikes.
Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
