Recommended Ball Mount for 2014 Toyota Prius with Class I Hitch Receiver
Question:
I read the article about the riser. But I havent got the trailer yet. Do you have a general idea of the size riser I will need? I am thinking 4 inches given how low the prius is to the ground. I have the 24847, the 19256, C56147 in my cart. I think I need the 3594. Any advice would be appreciated.

The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24847 is 11-3/4 inches from the ground to the inside top of the receiver. For your 4 inch rise, the Draw-Tite Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitch - 2-1/8" Rise, 2-3/4" Drop - 6-5/8" Long - 2K # 3593 which is what we typically recommend for this hitch is not going to get you there. The Draw-Tite Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitches - 4" Rise - 10" Long - 2,000 lbs # 3594 is my recommendation for you because it give you the rise needed and is compatible with your class I hitch receiver. If you measure from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler, then you'll know what rise you need with the receiver when you use the attached article to help.
With either ball mount you can use the 1-7/8" Hitch Ball - 3/4" Diameter x 1-9/16" Long Shank - Chrome - 2,000 lbs # 19256 or the 2" Hitch Ball - 3/4" Diameter x 1-9/16" Long Shank - Chrome - 3,500 lbs # 19258.
