Does Lippert Jack It Bike Rack Have to Use Angled Piece

Question:

Do you need to use the piece that has a 2 inch receiver at each end and causes the bike rack to turn at a 45 degree angle? In others words. I want to mount the top section into the bottom section without using the piece at is angled at 45 degrees. I have a Keystone Cougar 31RLT travel trailer that has no room to allow the bike rack to angle toward the rear of the camper. The propane tanks are covered with a factory shield.

I see what you are saying and yes, the Jack-It 2 Bike Rack # LC429756 does need to use the angled portion because the top portion does not have a bolt hole in the right spot to be able to not use that piece (see accompanying photo).

The best option for you to carry a couple bikes with your trailer is with the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663.

If you have a 4" or 4-1/2" square bumper this will fit right to that, or you will need this rack plus the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13704 if your trailer has a box frame, C-channel frame, or I-beam frame that is 22" to 66" wide.

I have added links to video reviews for you to check out as well.
