Parts Needed to Transport 2 Dirt Bikes with a 2017 Buick Encore
Question:
Hello, I have a 2017 Buick Encore and I am searching for a hitch that can fit a rack for 1 adult and 1 youth dirtbike. The ones I have found are class II and 2, which are not compatible with the 1-1-1/4 inch you sell. Is there a different product I can use or a different solution to this need? Thanks!

The only hitch that we have for your 2017 Buick Encore is the Curt Class I Round Tube Hitch # C11527. As long as your Encore has at least a 200 pound capacity, you could use this with a bike rack like the Saris Freedom # SA4412B to get the job done. This hitch has a weight capacity of 200 pounds tongue weight. You will need to subtract the weight 28 lb weight of the carrier to get 172 pounds remaining for the weights of your bikes.
If you're wanting to transport actual dirt bikes then you're going to need to add the T-One Wiring Kit # 118745 and a ball mount kit like part # 36061 with a 1-7/8" # 19257 or a 2" # 19258 hitch ball so that you can load the bikes up into a trailer.
The reason you'll need to go with a trailer is because your dirt bikes are going to be way over the weight rating for any standard bike rack, and then all of the motorcycle carriers will only fit with a 2" receiver.
