A simple plug-in location for a brake controller is not available on the 1999 GMC Yukon. You will need to hardwire in the controller. Since you have installed a 7-Way you will just need a brake controller installation kit like # 5506 for 6 to 8 brakes.
Attach the black wire in the duplex cable to the back of the 7-Way to the 11:00 position. Attach the white wire in the cable to the back of the 7-Way in the 7:00 position. (If the trailer does not require 12-volt power then the black wire does not have to be connected.)
Route the wires under the vehicle, avoiding areas that could pinch or burn the wire, and into the engine compartment near the battery. In the engine compartment mount the circuit breakers (you will need # PK54540 also if the trailer needs 12 volt power) to the metal of the engine compartment. The black wire will go first to the circuit breaker and then from there to the positive battery terminal. Save any extra wire.
The other wire you will need to route through the firewall and connect it to the brake controller blue wire. Again, save any extra wire. Using the extra wire attach some to the black brake controller wire and route it through the fire wall, to the other circuit breaker and from there to the positive battery terminal. Then attach a length of wire from the brake controller white wire, through the firewall, and attach it to the negative battery cable.
Next you will need a circuit tester like # PTW2993. Use it to test the wires on the brake switch above the brake pedal. Find the wire that only shows a signal when the brake pedal is pressed. If you find a wire that also shows a signal when the turn signals or running lights are on it is not the correct wire. When you find the correct wire, attach the brake controller red wire to it to complete installation.
