Disk Brakes Compatible with 4400 lb Axle

Question:

Do you have disk brakes for a 4400lb axle? I have a 2007 Keystone Cougar 281EFS and Im looking at a 2021 Grand Design Reflection 150 268bh - both list 4400lb axles but I cant find a kit for them. Thank you.

There isn't a specific disc brake kit for 4,400 lb axles. The 4,400 lb axles use the same braking system as the 3,500 lb axles, so you can use the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 8" Rotor/Hub - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # K2HR35D-8 if you have 10-13 inch wheels and I recommend the
Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # K2HR35D for 14 to 15 inch wheels. These assemblies use bearing # L68149 and # L44649 so you will want to confirm the fit with your spindle. You can do that by removing your current bearings and looking at the face of the inner and outer bearing which will have a number printed on the face of each.

If you can't determine the bearing number you can use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 on the spindle in the bearing locations. I've attached a video and photo to assist.
