Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for a 2001 Coleman Cheyenne Popup Camper Trailer
Question:
Have a 2001 Coleman Cheynne PopUp Camper. Ive always used a weight distribuition hitch when pulling travel trailers, but this is the smallest thing Ive pulled. The tongue weight is 350 lbs and the camper runs 3000 lbs. I will be pulling it with a 2007 Cheverolet Suburban which has the tow package. Just feel it might be safer to have the weight distribution hitch. Please advise. Thank you.

I recommend a system rated for 200 to 600 pounds tongue weight like # RP65509. But, if the Coleman camper has items mounted on the front of the frame, you may need to use chain hangers, # RP58305, that bolt through the frame, rather than the brackets that fit on top of the frame. I have linked some instructions for you.
If you go with the Pro series kit, you would just need to use a properly sized ball like # A-90 for a 2 inch or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch. I have linked our FAQ article on weight distribution for you.
