Parts Needed to Upgrade Trailer with 10 inch Hydraulic Brakes to 10 inch Electric Brakes

Question:

In your previous response you told me my existing drums will work, however, after watching several videos, all the drums I observed in the videos seem to have smooth surfaces and tire stud heads that are recessed and do not protrude through the back of the drum face. My studs protrude through the drum face, in addition, there is a raised surface that surrounds the stud heads. Please see the attached photo. I fear the magnets will get damaged by either the studs or the raised surface, or will not have enough surface area to be drawn toward to effectively work. Based upon the photo please reconfirm if my drums will work. If you change your mind and decide they will not work, based upon my original email information and the following bearing information, please recommendation drums I should purchase. In addition to my below email information following is information for the bearings. Inner bearing markings: URB-UCF, L68149, 1N, ROMANIA. Photo attached of bearing dimensions Smaller diameter side 1 3/8 or 1.375, larger diameter side 1 5/8 or 1.625 (inches) Outer bearing: markings, URB-UCF, L44649, 1N, ROMANIA Smaller diameter side 1 3/16 or 1.1875, larger diameter side

The brake assemblies that will fit your axle and also are what I recommend is the kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA which are self adjusting and the correct size and rating. Your current drums will not need to be replaced. You can keep using your current coupler by either running a bolt through the sliding portion or welding it so that it no longer moves.

To upgrade the 4-way of your trailer to a 7-way you'd want the upgrade kit part # HS381-9000 plus 10 gauge wire for the brake assemblies like part # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot.

You are correct and I appreciate you looking further into this. You do need a new hub drums set as your current drums can't work with electric assemblies. So what you'd need is the part # 84546UC3. This fits your current spindles and works with the brake assemblies I mentioned as well.
