Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2015 Volvo XC60
Question:
Here in Florida, most boat trailers dont have brakes due to the salt water. Im trying to figure out the best and safest trailer hitch for a 2015 Volvo XC60 w/ AWD very specifically, its the T6 Premier Plus. I need to trailer a 19foot boat that weighs around 1,500 lbs. I dont know the weight of the unbraked trailer, but its a basic single axle.

For your 2015 Volvo XC60 I recommend going with the Curt # 13268 hitch because the heavy powder coating that Curt uses on their hitches is going to help protect against rust and corrosion, which will be especially helpful in the wet Florida climate. This will be a great choice for your Volvo XC60 and will provide you with a safe solution for towing your boat.
In order to tow a trailer you'll also need a few other things: a wiring harness, ball mount and hitch ball. For a wiring harness I recommend using the Tekonsha # 118739 because of the reliability of the Tekonsha harnesses. Because this is a boat trailer, it's likely going to have a 5 way plug, so you'll also need the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 5-Way Flat - Vehicle End # C57187. This will allow you to have a properly functioning reverse light for your boat trailer. If the trailer only has a 4 way, you won't need this part.
To finish up your towing setup I recommend using the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which comes with 2 ball mounts and 2 hitch balls of various sizes to help you cover whatever different setup your new trailer might have, as well as hitch pin, clip and a carrying bag for storage when the parts aren't in use.
I've linked some installation videos of these parts for you to use as a reference if you'll be installing yourself.
