Recommended 7 Way Connector and Brake Controller for 2013 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Hi I have a 2013 Toyota sienna limited. I have a 4 way flat on my vehicle and I would like to convert it to a 7 way and add brake controller. If there is already a black wire ran from the positive terminal to the back of vehicle for the 4 way, do I still need to run a black wire from the 7 way to the positive side of battery? Thank You

I'll start by saying that you can tap into the 12v power wire running to the converter box on your 4 way wiring harness. In order to install a 7 way connector on your 2013 Toyota Sienna I recommend using the # ETBC7L for your 7 way, which is designed to be used with wireless brake controllers like the Curt Echo # C51180. This will eliminate some of the additional wiring that will be required and the Curt Echo can be controlled with any Andriod (4.4 or newer) or iOS smart phone (8.0 or newer). This is one of the easiest to use and install products on the market, which is one of the reasons I love it. It's also a great option if you may get a new vehicle any time in the future, since this can be used on any vehicle with a 7 way trailer connector.
I've linked a great review video on the Echo, as well as the installation video of an ETBC7L for you to have a look at.
