Replacement Idler Hub for Continental Boat Trailer

Question:

Hello! I’m trying to pick out new hubs for my boat trailer and could use some assistance in choosing the right size/kit. I’m looking to replace the entire hub including the bearings and would prefer it to all come preassembled if possible. The hubs are 5 x 4 1/2. 14 inch wheels. Front bearing Part # L44649. Rear bearing part #125197250. It’s a Continental trailer for an 18ft boat and I believe the max capacity is 2800 but I’m not certain. Any guidance is much appreciated, thanks!

When I did a google search on the 125197250 number you provided, it keeps taking me to the L44649 bearing. is the surface of the spindle that the inner and outer bearing ride upon the same diameter? You could take a digital caliper like # PTW80157 on the spindle surface where the 125197250 bearing rides. If it's right around 1.06 inches, then it's a L44649 bearing. Different manufacturers can refer to the same bearings using different reference numbers. If the spindle doesn't have a taper in it between where both bearings ride, that's a dead giveaway that both bearings are the same.

If they ARE the same, you can use the CE Smith # CE13315 which is pre-assembled and greased and is compatible with up to a 14 inch wheel.

If the bearing surface of the spindle for the 125197250 bearing is different, please reply with that dimension, and I'll see what I can find out for you.
