Budget-Friendly Weight Distribution Hitch for 7,000 lb GVWR Trailer
Question:
Im Looking for a Weight Distribution Hitch Setup. Im hoping you can help me out as to which setup is recommended. I have an average tongue weight of 600-700 lbs and the trailer GVWR is 7000 lbs and sway control is not a huge need. The tongue has Distribution Brackets welded on from the factory so i'm not sure what setup is right. Cost is a concern as its for a Non-Profit 501c3 Organization and funds are limited. The trailer was donated to us so I didn't get to ask the dealer about a hitch. The selling Dealer is 90 miles away and not much help on the phone and said they would have to see it to figure it out. Hope to find a solution here and make a purchase soon.

We can get you the right weight distribution set up for your trailer with a GVWR of 7,000 lbs. That is the most important factor because a trailer's tongue weight when loaded is on average about 12 percent of its GVWR, and the right weight distribution setup is one in which your total tongue weight falls somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity.
I'm not sure what brackets you may have (feel free to send a photo) but all systems come with their own brackets, and for a 7,000 lb GVWR trailer, with a tongue weight in the range of 800 lbs to 900 lbs the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System # FA94-00-1000.
This comes with everything you need except the hitch ball, and assuming you need a 2-5/16" hitch ball the right one is the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 63840.
I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well.
