Converter Box to Go From Separate Turn Signal Circuits on 2005 GMC Sierra to Combined
Question:
I have a 2005 GMC Sierra the trailer harness was not working on the left and right turn signal. I purchased a new harness and installed it. It did the same thing. So figuring there was a wiring problem I opened the two tail light covers , and ran a new yellow from the left side then a new green wire from the right side the signals work now but there is no brake lights. Is there some kind of a converter under the truck to allow for both signals to go through the same wires. Thanks for any help

Expert Reply:
A 2005 GMC Sierra has it's turn signals on a separate bulb from the stoplights at the assemblies. So to convert this signal so that the stop and turn signals are on the same circuit like what trailer wiring uses you'd need a converter box like # RM-732. You'd run the red wire to the stoplight circuit and then the green and yellow to the circuits you have already ran wires to and you'd be set.
