How to Get Replacement For Missing Yakima Rocket Box Key When One Lock is Unlocked

Hi I have an old Yakima rocket box and misplaced the key. Unfortunately one of the two locks is locked. Want to know how to unlock without a huge expense to a locksmith

Okay. This will be kind of an involved process, but at the end you won't need to hire a locksmith.

Assuming both locks use the same key, you can use the Control Key which we offer as part # Y8007835. This key allows you to remove the lock cylinder from an unlocked lock core. Insert the control key, give it a shake back and forth and gently pull the cylinder from the lock barrel. The key number will be etched on the side of the lock cylinder, it should start with the letter A, as shown in the provided photo. If the key number is A133, for instance, the replacement key part number would be # Y8772-A133. Simply substitute the key number after the dash, and type that in the search box on our website to get the replacement key, which would be sold individually. Once you get the replacement key, write down the key number and keep it someplace safe where you won't forget about it.
