Driver's Side LED Tail Light That Matches Optronics Combination LED Trailer Tail Light
Question:
I am interested in replacing my trailer lights. I have found the STL8RB for the passenger side. Combination LED Trailer Tail Light - Submersible - 6 Function - 11 Diodes - Passenger Side Item # STL8RB What is the driver side part number? I see the part STL9RB driver side, but this is different as it is 7 Function - 14 Diodes, instead of 6 function - 11 diodes. I have a second question. Can I replace the incandescent lights with the LED lights? I am towing with a 2010 Toyota Camry. Looking forward to you response. Regards,

Expert Reply:
The correct Combination LED Trailer Tail Light that goes with the Optronics # STL8RB is the part # STL9RB like what you were talking about. The reason why it has that extra function and the extra diodes is because there is a clear light/lens on the underside of that light which is used to illuminate a license plate.
You can definitely upgrade your incandescent lights to LED. This is becoming more and more common simply because LEDs last longer and typically burn brighter so they are easier to see on the road.
Attached is an installation video and a photo of the underside of the driver's side light for you to check out.
