Height Above Hitch for Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack
Question:
I want to buy a Kuat NV 2.0 for my Porsche Cayenne. I am concerned about exhaust heat burning tires or wheels. Exhaust pipes are directly in line with hitch. How much vertical clearance does Kuat NV2 have from hitch height to wheel tray? What is best product to raise hitch height that will still allow Cargo door to open?

Expert Reply:
I added a cutout from Kuat showing the dimensions of the height of the Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack. According to this it is 8-3/8" from the center of the shank to the bottom of the wheel tray, which will give you plenty of room away from the exhaust on your Porsche Cayenne.
The NV 2.0 is available in your choice of colors as well:
- Gunmetal Gray: Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Rack # NV22G
- Black: Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Rack # NV22B
This rack fits tires up to 3" wide but can fit tires up to 4.8" wide with the addition of the Phat Bike Adapter Kit for Kuat Bike Racks # APBK. It even has a ramp available if you want to be able to simply walk your bikes up to load them on the rack, and for that you'd need the Access Ramp for Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack # ANVBRB.
