Diversi-Tech Self-Locking, Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount Will Not Unlock
Question:
After using the hitch for 8 days, the lock will not dis-engage. I cant remove the hitch from the trailer. Tried applying WD-40 as per manufacturers recommendations. No luck. Had I known that these hitches were prone to this problem, I certainly would not have purchased this.

It is entirely possible that there is enough pressure still on the pin that goes through the hitch pin hole to prevent you from easily turning the locking mechanism. This could have occurred from the weight of the trailer when it was connected.
To relive the tension you will want to attempt to move, wiggle, persuade the ball mount. This should make the lock easier to turn. If you have to persuade it, use a rubber mallet so you do not damage the finish or metal of the ball mount.
Another possibility is to attach the trailer to the ball and use the trailer jack to jack up both the trailer and the rear of the vehicle a little to relieve the tension.
Once you can unlock and remove the ball mount, you will want to make sure the mechanism works properly with the key. Additional lubrication as indicated by the manufacturer may be required to prevent this from happening again.
