Trailer Hitch Receiver Height and Looks for Aftermarket Options on a 2020 Kia Telluride
Question:
OEM trailer hitch height from ground to top of receiver opening is 17 1/2 inch. Curt and etrailer are approximately 2 inches lower to the ground. Why could they not match OEM and which is a much cleaner looking installation, and has increased ground clearance.

Typically when the aftermarket hitch manufacturer's design isn't 100% the same as the OEM it's because their install would require an excessive amount of fascia trimming. The Curt # C13420 will ultimately sit higher (at 15-1/2" to the top inside of the receiver) since you have to cut some of the fascia, but the etrailer # e95ZR will look cleaner on your 2020 Kia Telluride since it just fits right up into place and you don't have to cut any fascia.
For the ultimate solution we also have the Stealth Hitches kit # 391KIATELL20T which comes with everything you need to tow a trailer or use an accessory. This is designed so that the receiver or ball mount is removed when not in use so that nobody can even tell that a trailer hitch is installed on the Telluride. This kit is a bit more pricey but it does give the best look overall.
